The Avanza name has been around for nearly two decades and we always strived to create innovative and forward looking services and solutions which improve the lives of our end customers.

Avanza has always strived to create forward looking services and solutions that form a strong and sustainable competitive advantage for our clients. I am proud of the DNA that we have built into our culture, which forms the foundation for creativity and innovation at Avanza.

Board of Directors

Mahmood Kapurwala

Mr. Mahmood Kapurwala is the CEO of Avanza Group. In addition, he also chairs Avanza’s Global Leadership Committee (AGLC). With more than 18 years of experience in IT and financial sectors, Mr. Kapurwala is responsible for managing and driving the annual business performance of the group of companies, formulating and executing long-term strategies, and interacting with clients, employees, investors, and other stakeholders. He is Avanza’s primary decision and policy maker, setting the company’s values, ethics, and culture.
Mr. Kapurwala has been associated with Avanza since 2002 and has been instrumental in the growth of the company over the years. In his extensive career with Avanza, Mr. Kapurwala has held a wide variety of leadership positions across different functions. He is a business graduate and an MBA Gold Medalist from SZABIST.

Waqas Mirza

Mr. Waqas Mirza is on the Board of Directors at the Avanza Group and also the CEO of Avanza Innovations.

As the CEO of Avanza Innovations, Waqas has been passionately building the company as a technology powerhouse that has an impressive portfolio of services and on-ground implementations across areas like: Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, Smart City Enablement and Customer Engagement.

Waqas Mirza has also been serving on the board of directors for Avanza since November 2011 and is also a member of Avanza’s Global Leadership and Innovation Committees.

Waqas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from FAST-NU and Master’s in Business Administration from London Business School.

Omer Ahmed Khan

Mr. Omer Ahmed Khan holds a position on the Board of Directors of the Avanza Group and also is the COO of Avanza Solutions. He is responsible for managing and driving the product development, implementation, and support and is also involved in innovation and new product initiatives for the company.

He has been serving on the board of directors since November 2011 and is also a member of Avanza’s Global Leadership Committee. Omer has been associated with Avanza since 2002 and has been instrumental in taking the company’s product portfolio to the next level. He has been successfully leading new ventures and the company’s overall technology strategy.

Omer holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from GIK Institute and Master’s in Computer Science from University of Southern California.
